Lead Free

GDS was the first company in the field of plastic pipes and fittings to ban lead from its entire production. Thanks to a new system which required an investment of more than one million euros, the company managed to implement a new production process which, together with PVC, exploits only organic substances replacing lead.

The new system has been operative since September 2007 and started to work at full capacity at the beginning of October.

Beyond the environmental aspect the system also guarantees considerable advantages from the productive point of view: qualitative constancy of the production lots, a general better quality of the finished products and efficiency improvement, thanks to a drastic waste reduction. This is the evidence that business strategies can perfectly coexist with sustainable development and environmental respect.
